Top 10 result for Dance at round 2 of Porsche Supercup Australasia presented by GT Leagues Australia.
After missing round 1 due to other commitments but not losing anything thanks to the series having 2 drop rounds, the TTL Esports driver Cameron Dance set out to make an impact in what is a very strong field around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Qualifying didn’t go to plan at all struggling to get a lap in and having to start down in 19th place for race 1 of the two race format. Lap 1 would see a massive pile up around the middle of the pack which Dance would luckily weave his way through only coming away with some minor bodywork damage before a safety car was called due to the massive crash. Once the race went back to green Dance continued to make up a few positions before running out of time and crossing the line in 11th for race 1.
Race 2 of the night would go much better with Dance starting in P5 thanks to a reverse grid of the top 15 finishers from race 1. The start would see a great launch from Dance moving up into 2nd before the first turn and then go on the hunt for the race lead which he eventually gained and held for majority of the race. Unfortunately a late race spin caused Dance to fall back to just outside of the top 5 but he would recover to end up on the podium before being turned by another driver on the last lap and eventually crossing the line 7th.
Despite the results could of been better, we will take 8th place for the round and focus on the job ahead with the big picture in mind heading into round 3 in 2 weeks time.
