The iRacing Official V8 Supercar Series has been a happy hunting ground for SSR again this season with some impressive drives from the guys in the first 5 rounds of the Championship. But last night we saw our best team effort so far with Jordan Ross, Wayne Bourke and Brenton Hobson all factoring at the front of the field over 34 laps at Imola.
The trio qualified 2nd, 3rd and 4th respecively for the start and all employed different strategies in the race to try and challenge for the win. After 2 rounds of stops had played out the positions had reversed as Brenton emerged 2nd with Wayne and Jordan hot on his heels. The chase was on for Brenton who seemed to have pace to burn and almost managed to steal his first ever top split SoF win after narrowly being beaten to the line by 0.132 seconds from Trans Tasman Racings Sam Blacklock.
Wayne and Jordan swapped positions in the closing laps and the team looked set for a certain 2-3-4 until Jordan fell foul of the incident limit with just 1 lap left to race and was ultimately disqualified. None the less the team are thrilled to have such good pace heading towards V8 Supercar Online Premier Series Enduro season where Imola will host the opening round of the Enduro Cup.
